Dr. Krista Zelizney
PT, DPT, Female Pelvic Floor Level 1, 2a and 2b
Physical Therapist
Krista was originally born and raised in Canada where she spent most of her childhood before moving to the United States. She spent her teenage years all over the states including Florida, Arizona, Mississippi, and New Hampshire. Krista originally attended community college in Phoenix playing junior college soccer before leaving to attend the Disney College Program in Orlando, FL. Krista then went on to attend the University of Mississippi completing her degree in Exercise Science.
Krista pursued her doctorate in physical therapy at Florida International University. She has worked to gain experience in many clinical settings from sports orthopedics to acute care. Krista was able to attend the Herman and Wallace pelvic level 1 course while in school even furthering her passion for Pelvic Rehabilitation while taking further pelvic floor courses along her years practicing. Krista now specializes both as an orthopedic therapist as well as a pelvic floor specialist.
Krista’s love for Pelvic Rehab was something she felt started even at a young age with the feeling that there was not enough taught about Women’s Health in school. Krista hopes to treat patients in all branches of Women’s Health with an emphasis on the pelvic floor and sexual function. She is also extremely passionate about educating the world on the importance of making Pelvic Rehabilitation function. Krista has a general love for orthopedics as well, and can’t wait to help patients overcome mental and physical challenges while creating a plan of care that takes the patient into account on a personal level and achieving goals they feel are most important.
For fun Krista enjoys mountain biking, hiking, watching movies, working out and attending concerts. She loves to spend time with her Australian Shepherd, Oakley and her significant other while watching SEC football on Saturdays. Be sure to say hi when you see her!
